Which of its own rules are worth it

Six simulated accounts of $100 read the same screener at the same moment and trade it by published rules. Neither holds a coin, signs anything or places an order: all of them buy and sell at the screener’s own price, which flatters them equally.

One obeys every check. One ignores most of them, so the careful account’s record means something: an account that does well on its own may only have met a rising market. The other four are the careful account with a single rule moved, because every rule here refuses tokens and a rule that refuses without earning it is a cost paid for nothing. What one of them buys and the careful account does not is exactly what that rule was refusing, and what happens next is that rule’s record. Nothing here is advice.

Six accounts, one screener

Careful and reckless settle whether the checks help at all. The other four are the careful account with a single rule loosened, each started with $100 on the same morning. When some of them show the same record, the rules they loosen have not yet changed a decision.
