What Ocellus is
Ocellus reads public blockchain records and public web pages about a token and turns them into a report: who holds it, where those holders’ funds came from, how they traded, and how the project’s public claims compare with those records. It is a research tool. It is in public beta, which means features change, reports can be incomplete, and the service can be interrupted or withdrawn.
What a report is, and is not
A report states what the records show at one moment, with its limits written into it. A connection between wallets is a signal, not proof of common ownership. The absence of findings does not mean a token is safe. Nothing on Ocellus is investment, legal or tax advice, a recommendation to buy or sell anything, or a statement about any person’s honesty. You are responsible for your own decisions.
Using the service
You may use Ocellus for your own research. You may not try to break it, overload it, get around its limits, scrape it in bulk, or use its reports to harass or defame anyone. We may limit or block use that does any of these.
Reports about tokens and wallets
Reports are built from public data and automated rules, and sometimes from automated language models. They can be wrong. If a report about your project or wallet is inaccurate, write to [email protected] with the report link and what is wrong; we will look at it.
Accounts, credits and the project token
Quick Scans are free. Deeper investigations use credits. Credits are a way to meter usage: they are not money, cannot be withdrawn or transferred, and have no value outside Ocellus. If a project token is connected to Ocellus, holding it may grant credits under rules shown in the app; those rules can change, and holding the token gives no ownership of, claim on, or right to revenue from Ocellus. Signing in uses a wallet signature only; Ocellus never asks for a private key or seed phrase and never asks you to send funds to sign in.
No warranty, limited liability
Ocellus is provided as it is, without warranties of accuracy, completeness or availability. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from relying on a report or from the service being unavailable.
Changes
We will change these terms as the product changes. The date at the top shows the current version; continuing to use Ocellus means you accept it.
